On behalf of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, and the Officers and members of AuxAir 12-07, I welcome you to our official website. I hope that you will find it informative and useful.
As Auxiliary aviators, our primary objective is to support the US Coast Guard in its many and varied missions by conducting airborne patrols in and around the metropolitan New York and southern New England areas. Our operations include homeland security, boating safety, search and rescue and winter ice patrols. These patrols are flown by qualified and trained civilian volunteer pilots and air observers under official orders from the Coast Guard.
As part of the aviation capability of the Coast Guard Auxiliary’s District 1 Southern Region, we participate in airborne patrols that are scheduled seven days a week, 365 days a year. These include regular patrols over New York Harbor, the Hudson River to Burlington VT, the coastal perimeter of the Long Island Sound and the south shore of Long Island out to Block Island RI.
In addition to our flying activities, we are focused on and participate in serving the needs of our Republic Airport community and our own Auxiliary membership. This includes monthly meetings with guest speakers, regular Auxiliary educational and training opportunities, airport open houses, social events and special activities such as high school career days and community blood drives.
We invite you to join us in serving the needs of your fellow citizens, your community and the United States Coast Guard. Please feel free to attend any of our regular monthly meetings (information posted elsewhere on this site) which are held at Republic Airport on the second Thursday of each month at 8:00pm.
Sincerely,
Greg Keshishian, Flotilla Commander Keshishian
